Saab 340 Captain (Type-Rated) – Cayman Airways Express

✈️ About the role

As a Saab 340 Captain with Cayman Airways Express, you will hold full command authority and responsibility for the safety of the aircraft, passengers and crew. You will exercise overriding and final decision-making on any aspect of the operation that affects safety and compliance with accepted standards, while representing the company with professionalism on every sector.

🧭 What you’ll do

• Operate the Saab 340 as Pilot-in-Command in accordance with company SOPs and applicable regulations.
• Exercise final authority for operational decisions, including go/no-go, weather, MEL/CDL, performance, fuel, payload and crew duty considerations.
• Lead comprehensive crew and passenger briefings; foster a just culture and a high-performing cockpit environment.
• Ensure accurate flight planning, weight and balance, performance calculations, and NOTAM/ATC coordination.
• Collaborate with dispatch, maintenance and ground teams to resolve operational issues and maintain on-time performance.
• Champion a safety-first mindset while delivering warm, reliable customer service.

• GCSE O Level passes (or equivalent) in Mathematics, English and at least one Science subject.

• Willing and able to work outside normal office hours and to be on call on a periodic basis.

📏 Minimum flight experience

• Total time: 2,000 hours
• In type (Saab 340): 500 hours
• Multi-engine turbine: 1,000 hours
• Experience: Minimum 5 years as a First Officer on multi-engine aircraft
• Type rating: Required (Saab 340)

Note: Of the total experience, at least 1,000 hours must have been on a multi‑engine turbine aircraft.

🪪 Licences, medical & compliance

• Licence required: ATPL
• Accepted authority: CAACI
• Medical: Class 1
• ICAO English: Level 4 or higher
• Visas: Able to obtain and hold both USA B1/B2 and C1/D visas
• Training: Must successfully complete the Cayman Airways Express Pilot-in-Command course and route qualification
• Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship is not provided
