Cutter Aviation is seeking an energetic, customer-focused aviation professional to captain a new HondaJet HA‑420 based at John Wayne–Orange County Airport. You’ll operate single-pilot, support the owner’s travel, and fly select charter missions—all while serving as the primary face of our brand in a remote, relationship-driven role.

🧭 The Mission

As the HondaJet PIC, you’ll lead safe, efficient, single-pilot operations in support of an owner’s travel and charter flying. You will be the primary point of contact for the owner and clients, manage all aspects of aircraft readiness, and coordinate closely with Cutter Flight Management across every phase of operations and support.

🧰 What You’ll Do

  • Serve as PIC for all missions—planning, briefing, and executing flights to the highest safety and customer-service standards.
  • Operate single-pilot in diverse environments; manage performance, weight and balance, fuel, alternates, and contingency planning.
  • Act as the primary face of Cutter Aviation for the owner, charter clients, vendors, and the broader business aviation community.
  • Oversee aircraft readiness: pre/post-flight inspections, discrepancy reporting, maintenance coordination, and logbook accuracy.
  • Coordinate scheduling, trip logistics, handlers, hangar, and ground arrangements with Cutter Flight Management.
  • Ensure regulatory and SOP compliance; maintain currency, required training, and check rides (HondaJet type training provided if needed).
  • Uphold professional appearance, discretion, and owner/client privacy at all times.
  • Handle trip expenses and documentation with meticulous attention to detail.

🌟 What You’ll Bring

  • FAA ATP and First Class Medical.
  • No accidents, incidents, or sanctions in the past 5 years.
  • Knowledge of general aviation aircraft, service requirements, and the needs of crews and passengers.
  • Self-starter who excels working independently in a remote environment.
  • Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Professional presence; able to develop a friendly, trust-based rapport.
  • High attention to detail and strong multi-tasking ability.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening test and background check; clean driving record.
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Flight Experience

  • 3,000+ hours Total Time
  • 1,500+ hours PIC
  • 250+ hours PIC in turbine-powered aircraft

Note: A HondaJet type rating is not required—company training is provided.

📍 Base, Coverage, and Collaboration

  • Primary Base: John Wayne–Orange County Airport (KSNA), CA.
  • Operating Model: Remote PIC role with on-site presence as missions and aircraft support require.
  • Collaboration: Close liaison with Cutter Flight Management for scheduling, maintenance, vendor coordination, and overall operational support.
