🧭 The mission

Coulson Aviation is seeking exceptional C-130 Initial Attack Airtanker Captains. You’ll lead a multi-crew Hercules on demanding initial attack operations, delivering decisive aerial support when it matters most.

🧰 What you’ll do

Command a C-130/L-100 Hercules on aerial firefighting missions with emphasis on initial attack.
Plan and execute low-level tactical profiles and precise retardant drops in complex or mountainous terrain.
Lead a multi-crew cockpit, championing effective CRM, safety, and disciplined SOPs.
Operate under IFR and VFR as required, maintaining regulatory and company standards.
Participate in briefings/debriefings, recurrent training, and continual proficiency checks.

🌟 What you’ll bring

Minimum requirements:

2,000 hours total flight time.
1,000 hours multi-engine.
500 hours IFR experience.
CPL, IR, ME — FAA certificates.
Class 1 medical.
Type rating not required — full training provided.

Preferred:

4,000+ hours total flight time.
Previous C-130, LAT, or VLAT experience.
IA aerial firefighting experience; USFS IA-carded Airtanker Captain.
Low-level tactical flying in complex or mountainous terrain.
Proven multi-crew, CRM-intensive cockpit experience.

Non–type-rated candidates are welcome. Coulson Aviation provides comprehensive aircraft and mission training to qualify you for Hercules airtanker operations.
