Lead high-impact environmental response missions as a part-time Captain on a modified Boeing 737-500 equipped with a dispersant spray system. You’ll deploy rapidly to safeguard U.S. coastal waters, including Alaska, Hawaii, and the Caribbean. Type-rated Boeing 737 Captains with special-mission mindset are encouraged to apply.

  • Employment: Part-time, on-call (24/7/365 except agreed time off)
  • Aircraft: Boeing 737-500 (Classic), modified with dispersant spray system
  • Operation: Special mission, on-demand ad-hoc
  • Primary area: U.S. coastal waters, Alaska, Hawaii, Caribbean
  • Eligibility: FAA certificates

🧭 The Mission

As a part-time Oil Spill Response Captain, you will ensure safe, efficient operation of a specialized B737-500 and execute low-level dispersant application sorties. This role demands precision, situational awareness, and the ability to deploy quickly for time-critical response operations—potentially for up to 30 consecutive days—with travel as required.

🧰 What You’ll Do

  • Command the modified B737-500 for low-level dispersant application in maritime environments.
  • Plan and execute special-mission sorties under time-critical conditions, adhering to all applicable regulations and environmental protocols.
  • Coordinate closely with response crews, dispatch, maintenance, and maritime authorities to deliver safe, effective outcomes.
  • Maintain currency and proficiency, including instrument procedures and low-level flight profiles.
  • Oversee aircraft readiness, mission equipment checks, documentation, and post-mission reporting.

🌟 What You Bring

  • Type Rating: Boeing 737 (Classic) — Required
  • Total time: 2,000 hours minimum
  • PIC time: 1,000 hours minimum
  • In type: 200 hours minimum on B737
  • Multi-engine turbine: 1,000 hours minimum
  • Instrument time: 50 hours
  • Licenses: CPL, IR, MEFAA only
  • Medical: Class 2
  • Travel readiness: Valid passport; ability to deploy anywhere the customer requests for up to 30 days
  • Availability: Flexible for on-demand, ad-hoc operations 24/7/365 (except during agreed time off)
  • Mobility: Able to travel as required

💡 Preferred Background

  • Airline Training Captain experience
  • Low-level, aerial application, or special-mission flying experience
  • Familiarity with remote or maritime operating environments (e.g., Alaska, Hawaii, Caribbean)

  • Able to successfully pass a Personnel Security and Background Check.
  • The client excludes from consideration individuals convicted of any felony or any drug-related offenses.
