✈️ About the role
The Oil Spill Response Captain ensures the safe, efficient operation of a modified 737-500 during rapid-response missions to apply dispersant on oil spills. You will lead the flight deck, uphold the highest standards of airmanship, and coordinate closely with response teams to deliver precise outcomes when it matters most.
🧭 What you’ll do
- Command on-demand missions in a B737-500 configured with a dispersant spray system.
- Execute safe, compliant operations across varying environments over U.S. coastal waters.
- Maintain readiness for rapid mobilization and extended deployments as required.
- Conduct thorough pre-/post-flight planning, briefings, and debriefs with ground and response teams.
- Uphold all regulatory, company, and environmental response procedures.
🧰 Minimum qualifications
- Total Time: 2,000 hours
- PIC Time: 1,000 hours
- In Type (B737): 200 hours
- Instrument: 50 hours
- Type Rating: Required (B737)
- Licenses: CPL, IR, ME — FAA accepted
- Medical: Class 2 (at least a Second Class Medical)
- Passport: Valid
- Mobility: Able to travel as required and deploy for up to 30 days per mission
- Availability: Flexible for on-demand, ad-hoc, 24/7/365 operations (except agreed time off)
- Security: Able to pass Personnel Security and Background Check; the client will not consider individuals convicted of any felony or any drug-related offenses
🌟 Preferred experience
- Airline Training Captain or Line Check Airman background
- Low-level or special mission flying experience

Primary response areas include U.S. coastal waters with potential deployments to Alaska, Hawaii, and the Caribbean, based on customer needs.
