✈️ Join RFDS SA/NT as an Aeromedical Line Pilot
Make a measurable difference across South Australia and the Northern Territory with the Royal Flying Doctor Service. As a permanent Aeromedical Line Pilot, you will fly single-pilot IFR missions by day and night, connecting remote communities with critical care. Non-Type Rated candidates are welcome — comprehensive training on our Pilatus PC-12 and PC-24 aircraft is provided.
🧭 What you’ll do
- Operate single-pilot IFR aeromedical missions safely and efficiently by day and night.
- Plan and execute flights in line with CASA regulations and RFDS SOPs, maintaining the highest standards of airmanship.
- Work seamlessly with clinicians and operations staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Exercise sound judgement and decisive leadership in time-critical and high-pressure environments.
- Maintain personal currency, standards, documentation, and readiness for tasking.

📋 Minimum requirements
- Licence: CPL with IR (CASA accepted only)
- Medical: Class 1
- English: ICAO ELP Level 4 or higher
- Total time: 2,000+ hours
- Pilot in Command: 1,500+ hours
- Currency: Recent single-pilot IFR within the last 2 years
- Proficiency: Current IPC (3 renewals)
- Night: 100+ hours of night flying
- Type rating: Not required — training provided

- Experience operating aircraft in remote and regional environments.
- Time on Pilatus PC-12 or PC-24.
- Experience and training in emergency retrieval practices.
