Help protect communities from the sky as the Pilot in Command of a King Air, executing dynamic aerial wildfire support missions across mountainous and low-level environments—day and night—with safety and teamwork at the core.

✈️ The mission

As a Firefighting Captain, you will lead King Air operations in support of aerial firefighting—executing transport, coordination, and reconnaissance missions. You will navigate challenging terrain and low-level environments, apply disciplined risk management, and deliver safe, on-time performance in high-tempo conditions.

🧭 What you’ll do

  • Serve as Pilot in Command for King Air missions supporting wildfire operations.
  • Plan and execute IFR/VFR flights in mountainous and low-level environments with robust risk assessment.
  • Operate safely at night and in dynamic conditions while adhering to SOPs and SMS principles.
  • Coordinate effectively with air and ground teams using clear radio communications and strong CRM.
  • Maintain aircraft readiness, documentation, and personal currency; participate in recurrent training.
  • Travel at short notice and self-manage logistics to support mission demands.

🧰 Minimum requirements

  • Total time: 1,500 hours
  • PIC time: 1,200 hours
  • Multi-engine PIC: 200 hours
  • Flight time notes:
    • 200 hours PIC Multi-Engine Land (100 hours in last 12 months)
    • 200 hours PIC in mountainous/low-level terrain (< 2,500 ft AGL, per 14 CFR 95.11)
    • 200 hours PIC Night
    • 500 hours PIC Cross-Country
    • 50 hours PIC actual instrument
    • 75 hours PIC simulated instrument
  • Licenses: FAA CPL, IR, ME
  • Medical: Class 2
  • Type rating: Not required (Training provided)
  • Education: High school diploma or GED

🌟 Preferred

  • 25 hours PIC in Beechcraft King Air 200 (10 hours in last 12 months)
