Turbo Otter Floatplane Pilot – Northern Saskatchewan Wilderness Lodge (Seasonal)
If you’ve logged time on a Turbo Otter, treat northern lakes like old friends, and love the whine of a turbine as much as sunrise on glassy water, this could be your dream seat. After nearly two decades, one of our beloved lodge pilots has hung up the headset. We’re inviting the next aviator to carry the torch: a skilled, confident, and customer-oriented floatplane pilot to safely transport guests to an exclusive wilderness lodge in northern Saskatchewan.
✈️ The Opportunity
Step into a legacy role flying one of Canada’s most iconic bush airplanes across pristine northern waters. You’ll be the trusted link between the lodge and the outside world—delivering guests, gear, and unforgettable first impressions with the professionalism and poise that define great float flying.
🧭 What You’ll Do
- Operate the DHC-3T Turbo Otter on floats for guest and cargo movements between the lodge and outlying points.
- Plan and execute safe flights in a remote environment: weather and water condition assessments, fuel planning, and accurate weight & balance.
- Deliver warm, professional guest service from dock to dock—calm, clear communication and a welcoming presence.
- Coordinate tightly with lodge staff, dock crew, and maintenance; maintain organized journey logs and records.
- Champion safety: adhere to company SOPs/SMS, practice vigilant risk management, and maintain egress/survival readiness.
🧰 What You Bring
- Licences: TCCA CPL with Float Rating
- Medical: Transport Canada Class 2
- ELP: ICAO English Level 4 or higher
- Experience: 300 hours Turbo Otter on floats; 500 hours DHC-2 Beaver on floats
- Training: Current egress training
- Approach: Team-oriented, highly organized, and guest-focused
- Type Rating: Not required — training provided (NTR)
- Work Authorization: Visa sponsorship not provided; must be legally entitled to work in Canada
🌟 Why You’ll Love It
- Fly a classic northern route network over stunning lakes and forests.
- All meals and comfortable lodge accommodations included while on duty.
- Transportation provided from our Flin Flon base to the lodge.
- Be the face of a premium guest experience in a tight-knit, safety-first team.
- Take over a seat held with pride by a long-tenured lodge pilot.
