Step into a senior seat with a safety-first flight department. As our Senior Captain, you’ll set the standard for professionalism, precision, and proactive safety while operating the Cessna Citation Excel/XLS/XLS+ fleet on domestic and international missions.
✈️ The Mission
Own the role of Pilot-in-Command on the Citation XLS/XLS+, delivering safe, efficient, and customer-focused corporate flight operations. You will champion Safety Management Systems (SMS), ensure full compliance with FARs, and model the highest standards of airmanship and crew leadership.
🧭 What You’ll Do
- Serve as PIC on Citation Excel/XLS/XLS+ missions, domestic and international.
- Plan and execute flights in full compliance with all applicable FARs for corporate operations.
- Maintain instrument and night currency; complete and pass required instrument competency checks.
- Lead with a strong safety orientation, advancing the department’s SMS program and safety reporting culture.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments, weather/route planning, crew and passenger briefings, and weight-and-balance and performance calculations.
- Coordinate seamlessly with dispatch/maintenance; ensure aircraft readiness and documentation for international operations.
- Support an on-call operation, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight trips.
🧰 Minimum Qualifications
- Total Time: 4,000 hours
- Multi-Engine: 2,000 hours
- Turbine: 500 hours
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of flight experience
- License: FAA ATP
- Medical: Class 1
- Valid passport with ability to travel internationally
- Ability to pass an instrument competency check and meet all instrument and night currency requirements
- Expert knowledge of FARs pertaining to corporate flight operations
- Served as a safety officer (or equivalent) for a minimum of 1 year
- Ability to work a flexible, on-call schedule (nights, weekends, holidays, overnights)
- Reside within a commutable distance (within one hour) of Le Mars, IA
🌟 Preferred
- Current CE560XL type rating (Citation XLS+)
- Demonstrated leadership within an SMS-driven flight department
