🧰 Minimum qualifications

Total time: 750 hours
PIC time: 100 hours
License/Exams: IATRA; SAMRA + SARON accepted if valid
Type rating: Not required (training provided)
Passport: Current and valid
Travel documents: All required visas allowing unrestricted travel
RAIC: Must be obtained prior to completion of Initial Ground School
Background check: Clear police and criminal record check
Pre-employment screening: Alcohol and drug test (must be passed for offer)

🌟 Preferred experience

1000+ hours total time
Multi‑engine and multi‑crew experience
Flight instructors with minimum Class 3 rating and 1200+ hours total time

🧭 Your path to PIC: PICUS program

WestJet Encore supports a Pilot‑in‑Command Under Supervision (PICUS) pathway for First Officers holding a CPL to build command experience toward the ATPL. You may complete up to 200 hours in Encore aircraft for a maximum credit of 100 hours PICUS, in accordance with CAR 421.11.
