Step into the left seat of a proven workhorse. As a PC-12 Captain, you’ll operate across diverse Canadian environments, exercising excellent airmanship, sound judgment, and crisp CRM. This permanent role welcomes non-type-rated pilots — comprehensive PC-12 training is provided.
✈️ The opportunity
Lead safe, efficient operations on the Pilatus PC-12 in a role that values professionalism, precision, and adaptability. You’ll operate IFR/VFR, day and night, and may serve communities where short, gravel, and remote operations are routine. Candidates must be eligible for a Canadian RAIC and able to obtain TSA approval for simulator training in the United States.
🧭 What you’ll do
- Captain the PC-12 across varied weather and terrain, maintaining strict adherence to SOPs, checklists, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct thorough preflight planning, performance calculations, weight and balance, fuel planning, and risk assessments.
- Operate effectively in single-pilot and multi-crew environments, applying disciplined CRM and decision-making.
- Execute IFR procedures to published standards, including departures, arrivals, approaches, and missed approaches.
- Operate to approved prepared and unprepared/gravel surfaces where authorized, prioritizing runway and terrain awareness.
- Participate in initial, recurrent, and simulator training (including TSA-approved training in the U.S. as required).
- Maintain accurate operational and technical records; confidently use EFBs, desktop computers, and related peripherals.
- Travel frequently and flexibly; support operations during evenings, weekends, and changing schedules.
🧰 Minimum requirements
- Total Time: 2000 hours
- License: TCCA CPL with IR
- Medical: Class 1
- ICAO ELP: Level 4 or higher
- Type Rating: Not required (Training provided) — NTR welcome
- Education: Graduate of an Aviation College degree or diploma program
- Citizenship/Residency: Canadian Passport or Permanent Resident Card
- Security & Access: Able to obtain a RAIC; eligible for TSA approval for simulator training
- Availability: Travel required; weekend and evening work required
- Technical: Manual dexterity to use desktop computers and peripherals
🌟 Preferred assets
- Two-crew turbine experience
- Current PC-12 PPC
- Previous PC-12 experience
- ATPL (TCCA) — note: pilots whose ATPL is suspended due to a Group 3 instrument ride will be deemed eligible
- 2000 hours TT, 500 hours PIC, 100 hours on type
- 2 years’ experience in IFR operations
- Northern gravel operational experience
