Step into the left seat of the Fairchild Swearingen SA227 Metroliner. If you’re a confident multi‑engine PIC with solid IFR experience, this permanent opportunity offers type training, professional support, and the chance to lead safe, efficient operations on a classic workhorse.
🧭 What you’ll do
- Exercise full command authority to conduct safe, compliant flights under company procedures and regulatory standards.
- Plan and execute flights in IFR/IMC and night conditions, including performance, fuel, W&B, and alternate planning.
- Lead effective CRM; coordinate with dispatch, maintenance, and ground teams to keep operations on schedule.
- Perform thorough preflight, enroute, and postflight duties; ensure accurate documentation and logkeeping.
- Uphold a strong safety culture, SOP adherence, and professional decision-making in time‑critical operations.
🧰 Minimum qualifications
- Total time: 1,500 hours
- PIC time: 1,000 hours
- Multi‑engine: 500 hours
- Flight time notes: 500 cross‑country, 100 night
- License requirements: FAA CPL, IR, ME
- Medical: Class 1
- Type rating: Not required (training provided)
- Open to license holders: FAA
🌟 Preferred experience
- SA227 Metroliner or similar turboprop experience; familiarity with the Honeywell TPE331 a plus.
- Prior Part 135 or 121 experience.
- Previous cargo operations experience and/or familiarity with company aircraft highly preferable.
🛡️ Additional requirements
- FCC Radiotelephone Operator Permit
- Current passport
- Current driver license
- Successful completion of pre‑employment DOT drug screening and other required background checks
- Ability to obtain an airport SIDA badge
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, various shifts; overtime and occasional after‑hours call‑outs
🎓 Training
Type rating not required — comprehensive SA227 training is provided for qualified candidates, including initial and recurrent instruction focused on systems, performance, and SOP standardization.
