🧭 The mission

As a Medevac Captain, you will transport patients and essential passengers safely and reliably, coordinating closely with medical crew and flight followers to execute time‑sensitive transfers. You’ll maintain currency with evolving regulations, develop an intimate mechanical knowledge of your aircraft, and uphold Transport Canada approvals, consistently meeting or exceeding the standards for your position.

🧰 What you’ll do

  • Lead flight operations under CARs 703/704, prioritizing safety, risk management, and SOP adherence.
  • Coordinate closely with medical teams and flight followers to ensure efficient, effective medevac transfers and on‑time performance.
  • Conduct thorough pre‑flight planning, performance calculations, aircraft inspections, and post‑flight duties.
  • Load, secure, and safeguard patients, cargo, baggage, and freight; ensure proper weight and balance.
  • Operate confidently in variable weather and at remote bases; adapt to indoor and outdoor working conditions.
  • Maintain regulatory currency through regular review of industry and company publications.
  • Exercise sound judgment and clear communication with ATC, dispatch/flight followers, crew, and stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, mentoring FOs and supporting a resilient team environment.

🌟 What you bring

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations.
  • Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Record check.
  • Thorough knowledge of aviation regulations.
  • Valid passport and valid driver’s license.
  • Physically able to perform all job duties, including lifting, loading, and securing patients and freight.
  • Comfort working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to work variable schedules and travel for extended periods; willingness to operate from changing remote bases.
  • Clear, compassionate communication and strong crew resource management skills.
  • Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset.
