As an MD‑80 Series First Officer at Aero Air, you’ll support challenging missions alongside experienced Captains—building hours, sharpening low‑level and multi‑engine skills, and advancing on a clear training pathway with type rating provided.
🧭 Your mission
- Operate the MD‑80 series as First Officer, supporting safe, compliant, and efficient flight operations from preflight to shutdown.
- Execute checklists, monitor systems, and manage performance data; maintain strong CRM and communication with the Captain and crew.
- Prepare and brief flight plans, weather, NOTAMs, and mission profiles; adapt to evolving operational requirements.
- Uphold a safety-first culture, adhering to company SOPs, FAA regulations, and Aero Air policies and standards of conduct.
- Travel as needed and maintain schedule flexibility to support operational demands.
🧰 Minimum qualifications
- Total time: 1000 hours
- PIC time: 500 hours
- Multi‑engine: 200 hours
- Type rating: Not required (Training Provided)
- License req.: CPL, IR, ME
- Open to Lic. Holders: FAA
- Medical: Class 2
🌟 Preferred experience
- Jet type rating
- Previous USFS air tanker experience
- Documented low‑level time
🧾 Additional requirements
- High School Diploma/GED and the required certifications listed above.
- Valid U.S. or state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Valid U.S. passport.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to travel.
- Successful completion and favorable results of a pre‑employment drug screen and criminal history background check.
- Reliable, regular, and predictable attendance.
- Adherence to all Aero Air policies and standards of conduct.
- Other duties as assigned.
📚 Training & progression
We provide the training pathway to qualify on the MD‑80 series, including ground school, simulator sessions, and line indoctrination. You’ll refine your CRM, SOP adherence, and mission execution skills in a professional, safety‑driven environment.
🧭 Schedule & travel
Operations may require variable schedules and nationwide travel. Candidates should be prepared for flexible duty periods to meet mission needs.
