PlaneSmart Aviation is seeking an accomplished Learjet Captain to lead safe, efficient operations as Pilot in Command. You will champion safety, precision, and service while executing Learjet missions across the United States (and potentially beyond), upholding FAA regulations and company SOPs.

  • Location: United States
  • Operation: Learjet flight operations (Part 91/135)
  • License: FAA ATP (ATPL)
  • Passport: Current United States Passport required
  • Medical: FAA First Class Medical (required); at minimum, Second Class acceptable per company policy
  • Minimum Flight Time: 2,000 TT | 1,000 PIC (airplane) | 500 multi-engine turbine | 500 cross-country | 100 night | 75 instrument (50 in-flight)

🧭 What you’ll do

  • Serve as Pilot in Command for Learjet operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and exemplary airmanship on every leg.
  • Plan and execute flights: performance, weight and balance, fuel, weather, NOTAMs, alternates, and terrain/airspace considerations.
  • Operate in accordance with FAA regulations and company SOPs, with a focus on Part 91/135 standards.
  • Lead effective CRM with crew, dispatch, and maintenance; complete thorough preflight and postflight inspections and documentation.
  • Deliver professional, client-focused service while safeguarding comfort, schedule reliability, and privacy.
  • Maintain currency, training, and accurate records; support a just culture and continuous improvement in safety.

🧰 What you’ll bring

  • Certificates: FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP).
  • Medical: FAA First Class Medical Certificate (required); at a minimum, Second Class Medical acceptable.
  • Travel Documents: Current United States Passport.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2,000 hours total flight time.
    • Minimum 1,000 hours Pilot-in-Command airplane time.
    • Minimum 500 hours cross-country flight time.
    • Minimum 100 hours night flight time.
    • Minimum 75 hours instrument time (50 in-flight).
    • Minimum 500 hours multi-engine turbine airplane time.

🌟 Preferred qualifications

  • Part 135 operations experience.
  • 100 hours time-in-type (Learjet) preferred.
  • Type rating in similar aircraft preferred.
  • High performance, high altitude, and complex endorsements, or equivalent 121/135 training documentation.
