Challenger 300/350 First Officer (Second-in-Command) – Chicago Area
✈️ Challenger 300/350 First Officer (SIC)
Jet Linx is seeking a safety-focused, team-oriented First Officer to serve as Second-in-Command on our Challenger 300/350, based in the Chicago area. You’ll support both Part 91 and Part 135 operations, partnering closely with the PIC and Base team to deliver exceptional, compliant, and efficient flights—every time.
🧭 Role overview
As Second-in-Command, you’ll prepare for and execute flights in full compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and company procedures. You’ll manage flight deck duties with exemplary checklist discipline and CRM, help steward the passenger experience, and embody Jet Linx core values on every mission.
🧰 Key responsibilities
- Support safe, efficient aircraft operation alongside the PIC under Part 91 and Part 135.
- Plan and brief flights, including performance, weight and balance, weather, NOTAMs, and alternates.
- Execute FMS programming, checklist execution, and strong CRM throughout all phases of flight.
- Manage duty, flight, and rest periods per CFR and company requirements.
- Remain in timely communication regarding standby status, trip notifications, position calls, and pre/post-flight reports.
- Maintain EFB hardware and applications; ensure navigation charts, publications, and company manuals are current.
- Demonstrate proactive decision-making and professional judgment; uphold safety management practices.
- Coordinate with ground, maintenance, and cabin teams; assist with fueling, de/anti-icing, and ramp safety as needed.
- Maintain a current First-Class Medical and all required qualifications at all times.
📜 Qualifications
- Flight time minimums: 1,500+ hours total time; 500+ hours PIC; 500+ hours multi-engine; 100+ hours turbine; 150+ hours instrument.
- Certificates & licenses: ATP (unrestricted), current First-Class Medical, FCC Restricted Radio License, valid passport.
- Work authorization: Ability to obtain a U.S. driver’s license and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Training: Initial or recurrent Part 142 training in type within the last 24 months preferred.
- Travel: Able to travel without restriction to EU, Canadian, and Caribbean destinations.
- Compliance: Pass pre-employment drug screen and ongoing random drug/alcohol testing; consent to records release and pass an FAA Pilot Records Database review with a System Chief Pilot.
- Availability: Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays; reside within a two-hour call-out of the base (or relocate).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Physical demands: Frequent work around aircraft/terminals; able to move up to 50 lbs frequently.
- License required: ATP_UNRESTRICTED
