Vantage Aviation is hiring a highly skilled, safety-focused Gulfstream G280 Captain to join our Flight Operations team in Richmond, VA. You’ll combine technical excellence with polished, discreet client service while leading safe, efficient missions for private-aviation travelers.

✈️ About the role

As Captain, you’ll set the tone for operational discipline, crew coordination, and client care. You’ll ensure every flight is conducted to the highest standards under Part 91/135, exercising sound judgment, proactive risk management, and unwavering commitment to safety.

🧭 What you’ll do

  • Captain the G280 in full compliance with FAA regulations, company SOPs, and safety standards.
  • Lead comprehensive preflight planning: weather, NOTAMs, fuel, routing, alternates, weight-and-balance, and performance calculations.
  • Verify airworthiness and records before every leg, confirming required documents, inspections, and certifications are current.
  • Provide strong CRM across all phases of flight; communicate clearly with crew, dispatch/scheduling, and ground teams.
  • Deliver discreet, professional service to high-net-worth clients while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Maintain currency and proficiency through recurrent training and checking; keep all FAA and company qualifications current.
  • Complete accurate postflight documentation, logs, and safety reports; support scheduling and operational needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot or Director of Operations.

🧰 What you bring

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and current First-Class Medical.
  • Minimum flight experience: 5,000 total hours, 2,000 PIC, and 2,000 multi-engine.
  • G280 type rating preferred; 250 hours on type preferred. Company-sponsored type training available for strong candidates.
  • Previous Part 91 and/or Part 135 experience preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of FAA regulations, aviation safety standards, and operational best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, decision-making, problem-solving, organizational, and customer-service skills.
  • Professional discretion and polished client etiquette with high-net-worth individuals.
  • Reside within, or be willing to relocate within, two hours of KFCI.
  • Schedule flexibility for frequent travel, including weekends and holidays; comfortable operating in varying weather and operational conditions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
