Learjet 31A First Officer — Air Ambulance (Kansas City)

✈️ The Mission

PHI Health is hiring a skilled and compassionate First Officer to serve as Second-in-Command on Learjet 31A air ambulance missions. You’ll fly under CAMTS guidelines with a seasoned captain, supporting time-critical patient transports 24/7 while upholding our unwavering safety culture and customer-focused service.

🧭 What You’ll Do

• Serve as SIC on Learjet 31A in two-pilot, IFR air ambulance operations.
• Execute line pilot duties in accordance with the GOM and company procedures.
• Champion the Safety Management System, Destination Zero, and company safety campaigns.
• Support 24-hour mission coverage on a 7-on/7-off roster, including day and night rotations.
• Deliver safe, efficient, courteous service to internal and external customers.
• Assist with patient and equipment loading/unloading; perform required lifting tasks.
• Participate in community outreach and adhere to PHI Air Medical policies and standards.

🧰 What You’ll Bring

• Certificates & Medical: ATP (Airplane Multi-Engine Land — unrestricted or restricted) and current FAA First Class Medical.
• Minimum Flight Experience (SIC):
  • 2,000 total airplane hours
  • 1,000 hours PIC (including 500 hours PIC in multi-engine turbine airplanes)
  • 100 hours night experience
• Strong communication and customer-service skills; professional, team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to live within a one-hour commute of the Kansas City base.
• Successful completion of interview and acceptance by the customer and PHI management.
• Preferred: Pilots currently assigned to the Kansas City Children’s Mercy Program.

⚕️ Occupational Health & Fitness

• Company flight-personnel weight limit: 235 lb (or less).
• Ability to lift 100 lb to assist with patient/equipment loading and unloading.
• Pre-placement physical and functional-capacity examination required.
• Drug and background screening required.
• Immunizations/screenings: Tuberculosis screening; Varivax (or positive titer); MMR (or positive titer); Tdap; Hepatitis B vaccination and titer where applicable; annual influenza; Covid vaccination.

• Roster: 7-on/7-off (day and night rotations)

• Service Commitments: Minimum one-year commitment if aircraft transition training is required; relocation package use requires a minimum two-year service commitment.
