✈️ Role at a glance

As King Air Captain, you will lead safe, efficient IFR/VFR operations to remote and regional destinations, uphold rigorous client standards, and set the tone for disciplined, professional flying in northern conditions. You’ll manage the full scope of pre-flight planning, execution, and post-flight duties while mentoring crew and strengthening a just culture of safety.

🧭 What you’ll do

  • Command King Air operations in all seasons, including short, gravel, and remote aerodrome environments common to northern flying.
  • Conduct thorough flight planning: weather, alternates, performance, weight & balance, fuel strategy, de/anti-icing considerations.
  • Adhere to SOPs, checklist discipline, and CRM; lead briefings and debriefs to reinforce continuous improvement.
  • Execute safe IFR/VFR departures, arrivals, and approaches in complex airspace and changing conditions.
  • Manage operational risk within the SMS framework; complete reports and safety communications as required.
  • Coordinate with dispatch, maintenance, and clients to meet service levels while protecting safety margins.
  • Maintain currency, participate in recurrent training, and mentor First Officers where applicable.

🎓 Minimum qualifications

  • Total time: 1500+ hours
  • Pilot-in-Command (PIC): 500+ hours
  • Multi-engine: 500+ hours
  • Turbine: 500+ hours
  • Type rating: Not required (training provided)
  • License required: ATPL
  • Open to license holders: TCCA
  • Medical: Class 1
  • ICAO ELP level: 4 (minimum)
  • Work authorization: Must be legally entitled to work in Canada; visa sponsorship not provided

🧪 Safety & compliance

  • Safety sensitive role: Candidates must test negative for controlled substances and alcohol prior to employment.
  • RAIC: Able to obtain a Transport Canada RAIC.
  • Client standards: Must meet requirements established by client operating standards and protocols.
