Join PHI Health’s fixed-wing team and captain life-saving missions across Texas. Lead two-pilot, airplane-IFR air-ambulance operations, working shoulder-to-shoulder with elite medical crews to deliver safe, rapid patient transport 24/7.
✈️ The Mission
As a PC‑24 Captain with PHI Health, you’ll command critical care flights that make a direct impact on patients and communities. You’ll fly around the clock under CAMTS guidelines, coordinate closely with medical personnel and customers, and represent PHI with professionalism and compassion on every mission.
🧭 What You’ll Do
- Serve as Pilot in Command of the Pilatus PC‑24 during two‑pilot, airplane‑IFR air‑ambulance operations on rotating day/night assignments.
- Execute line‑pilot duties in accordance with the General Operations Manual.
- Champion the Safety Management System, Destination Zero, and other company safety initiatives.
- Coordinate with internal and external customers to provide safe, efficient, courteous, and reliable service.
- Participate in community outreach and comply with PHI Air Medical policies and procedures.
- Assist in loading and unloading patients and medical equipment when required.
🧰 What You’ll Bring
- Certificates: FAA ATP (unrestricted or restricted) with multi‑engine land; current First Class Medical.
- Currency/Qualification: Current and qualified on the VE7A certificate.
- Experience (CAMTS minimums):
- 3,000 airplane hours total time
- 1,500 hours as Pilot in Command
- 500 hours as PIC in multi‑engine turbine airplanes
- 100 hours at night
- Multi‑engine time: 500 hours.
- Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
- Successful interview/acceptance by the customer and PHI management.
- Residence within a one‑hour commute of the Houston base.
- Ability to meet mission/aircraft safety requirement of maximum 235‑lb body weight.
- Ability to pass a pre‑placement physical and functional‑capacity exam (including lifting 100 lbs), plus drug and background screening.
- Compliance with health requirements: tuberculosis screening, specified immunizations and antibody titers, annual influenza vaccination, and COVID vaccination.
Note: Aircraft transition carries a minimum one‑year service commitment. Use of the relocation package carries a two‑year service commitment.
