Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a Type-Rated Pilot in Command to join a well-established flight department operating three aircraft with eleven pilots, four maintenance technicians, and one flight attendant. This Chicago-based role supports a Gulfstream G280 at Midway (MDW) and DuPage (DPA), flying Part 91/135 missions to domestic and international destinations.

✈️ The Opportunity

As Captain on our Gulfstream G280, you will lead safe, efficient, and client-focused operations supported by the resources of Executive Jet Management. Expect a dynamic blend of domestic and international flying under Part 91 and 135, within a culture that prioritizes professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

🧭 What You’ll Do

  • Serve as Pilot in Command for G280 operations under Part 91/135, ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance.
  • Lead flight planning, performance calculations, weight and balance, international procedures, and risk management.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with dispatch, maintenance technicians, and the flight attendant to deliver an exceptional client experience.
  • Execute domestic and international trips, including oceanic and remote operations as required.
  • Maintain currency, training, and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Exhibit exemplary CRM, airmanship, and decision-making while mentoring SICs.

  • Pilot in Command (PIC): 2,000 hours
  • Multi-Engine: 1,500 hours
  • Jet: 500 hours
  • Instrument: 300 hours
  • Experience: 4–6 years
  • Type Rating: Current G280 type rating (required)
  • License: ATP — FAA
  • Medical: First Class
  • Preferred: Prior corporate/business aviation experience
  • Residency: Within driving distance of MDW & DPA (non-commutable)
