Take command of an iconic bush aircraft on Northern float operations. If you’re a skilled float pilot who thrives in remote environments and values safety, teamwork, and precision, this contract role puts you at the helm of the legendary DHC‑2 Beaver. NTR candidates are welcome—type training is provided.
🧭 What you’ll do
- Command safe, efficient day-VFR float operations in the DHC‑2 Beaver across Northern waterways and remote strips.
- Plan and execute flights with strong airmanship: performance, weight and balance, fuel, weather, NOTAMs, and alternates.
- Operate on water with precision: docking, beaching, mooring, and managing variable water and wind conditions.
- Deliver exceptional passenger and cargo care, including briefings, secure loading, and community-focused service.
- Uphold SOPs, company policies, and regulatory compliance while fostering a strong safety culture.
- Conduct thorough pre/post-flight inspections and support aircraft care to keep the Beaver mission-ready.
- Collaborate with dispatch/ops to maintain on-time, reliable service in a dynamic Northern environment.
🧰 What you bring (Minimum requirements)
- Total Time: 1000 hours
- Float Time: 500 hours (minimum)
- Previous C‑185 and/or DHC‑2 experience
- License: CPL with Float Rating
- Medical: Class 1
- ICAO ELP: Level 4 or higher
- Current and valid passport
- Able to obtain a RAIC (Transport Canada Restricted Area Pass)
- Demonstrated knowledge of Northern flying operations
- Type Rating: Not required — training provided (NTR welcome)
- Accepted Licenses: TCCA
