✈️ Floatplane Captain Opportunity
Seair Seaplanes is seeking dynamic, qualified Captains to fly the iconic DHC-2 Beaver on scheduled and charter routes along British Columbia’s spectacular coast. This is a permanent, Vancouver-based role where you’ll lead safe, professional float operations serving remote communities and discerning travelers.
🧭 What you’ll do
- Captain DHC-2 Beaver float operations across coastal BC, including water takeoffs/landings, docking, and ramp procedures.
- Operate scheduled and bespoke charter flights while delivering clear briefings and outstanding customer service.
- Exercise strong airmanship and decision-making in a changing maritime environment; assess weather, tides, and performance limits.
- Plan and conduct flights in accordance with company SOPs, the CARs, and SMS; complete weight & balance, fuel planning, and navigation.
- Champion safety in remote operations; manage risk and apply threat and error management.
- Collaborate with dispatch and maintenance; support dock duties, fueling, and loading as a proactive team member.
🧰 What you’ll bring
- Minimum 1,000 hours PIC total time.
- Minimum 500 hours PIC floatplane time.
- CPL with Float Rating; TCCA license.
- Valid Class 1 Medical.
- ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 or higher.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Safety-oriented mindset; capable of operating independently in remote coastal locations.
- Adaptable and composed in a changing environment; a self-starter who takes initiative.
- Eligible to work in Canada; visa sponsorship is not provided.
Type rating not required — full DHC-2 training provided.
