✈️ About the role

As a First Officer on the MD-80, you will be an integral part of Everts Air’s Anchorage-based team, supporting both cargo and passenger missions throughout the network. You’ll operate in strict compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and all applicable manuals, procedures, and bulletins—delivering safe, on-time performance in Alaska’s dynamic operating environment.

🧭 What you’ll do

  • Confirm legal proficiency and rest requirements upon flight assignment.
  • Carry and verify current airway and airport charts for the planned route.
  • Assist the Captain with preflight preparation and perform the external aircraft inspection.
  • Execute checklists and make normal radio calls/position reports when acting as pilot monitoring.
  • Assume the Captain’s responsibilities secondarily and perform other duties as directed.
  • For passenger operations, assist the flight attendant with escorting, enplaning, and deplaning passengers.
  • Monitor and supervise fuel servicing; supervise or assist with cargo loading, ensuring loads match the plan, are properly secured, and free of damage risks.
  • Audit the trip envelope after each flight or sequence, verify required documents, and initial the checklist.
  • Maintain currency: attend annual recurrent training, complete assigned CBT on time, and uphold 90-day currency.

🧰 What you bring

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate (unrestricted or restricted).
  • Current First-Class FAA Medical Certificate.
  • FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
  • Minimum flight time: 2,000 hours total, 500 hours multi-engine land (MEL), and 500 hours in jet or turboprop aircraft.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Current U.S. passport; ability to obtain airport security clearance.
  • Fluent in English; authorized to work in the U.S.; valid ID/driver’s license.
