We’re seeking adaptable First Officers who thrive in dynamic environments and can operate from both water and land while delivering exceptional safety and guest service.

🧭 About the mission

As a First Officer, you’ll support safe, efficient amphibious operations in varied coastal and island environments. You’ll collaborate closely with the Captain, adapt to changing weather and water conditions, and contribute to a premium guest experience while upholding Tropic Ocean Airways’ safety culture.

  • Operate the Cessna Grand Caravan EX on both water and paved surfaces under the guidance of the Captain.
  • Execute checklists, performance calculations, and flight planning in G1000-equipped aircraft.
  • Monitor weather, tides, and water conditions to support sound operational decisions.
  • Deliver professional, courteous customer interactions throughout every phase of flight.
  • Maintain aircraft and operational standards in accordance with company procedures and regulations.
  • Flex between bases and routes as operational needs evolve.

🧰 What you’ll bring (Minimum requirements)

  • Total Time: 250 hours minimum
  • License: FAA CPL with Seaplane (Float) rating and IR
  • Medical: FAA Second-Class Medical
  • Endorsements: FAA High Performance and Complex endorsements
  • Certificates: FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
  • Type Rating: Not required (NTR) — training provided
  • Licensing Eligibility: Open to FAA license holders only

🌟 Preferred experience

  • G1000 avionics experience
  • Seaplane time (amphibious operations preferred)
  • Turbine time
  • Cessna 208 time

🌍 Where you’ll fly

Expect assignments across The Bahamas, the wider Caribbean, and New York. Candidates should be willing and able to work in various locations as required by the operation.
