Director of Flight Operations (Part 135) — Pilot-In-Command

✈️ The Opportunity

As Director of Flight Operations, you will lead flight standards, compliance, and day-to-day operational performance for a growing Part 135 operation, while serving as a line pilot as needed. You’ll champion safety, elevate crew performance, and ensure every flight meets the highest regulatory and service standards.

🧭 What You’ll Do

• Oversee and direct all Part 135 flight operations in accordance with FAR Parts 119 and 135 and company manuals.
• Serve as Pilot-in-Command as needed, maintaining currency and proficiency.
• Develop, implement, and standardize operating procedures, training practices, and safety initiatives.
• Coordinate flight scheduling, crew staffing, and utilization to meet business needs.
• Lead operational readiness for audits, inspections, and regulatory interactions.
• Collaborate closely with Maintenance, Dispatch, and Safety to ensure on-time, compliant operations.
• Manage records, reporting, and operational performance metrics with strong attention to detail.
• Contribute to budgeting, resource planning, and use of financial spreadsheets/tools to support efficiency.
• Foster a high-performance culture built on communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

🧰 What You’ll Bring

• Flight experience minimums: 3,000 hours total time; 1,200 hours Pilot-in-Command; 500 hours cross-country; 100 hours night; 75 hours actual or simulated instrument.
• Current and valid ATP/ATPL; able to maintain an FAA Second-Class Medical.
• Prior FAR Part 135 leadership experience as Chief Pilot or Director of Operations.
• Meets all qualifications outlined in CFR 119.71.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, or equivalent professional aviation experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to lead and collaborate in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
• Highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented; strong follow-through.
• Extremely proficient with computers and capable with financial spreadsheets.
• Thorough knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and company operating specifications.
• Able to read, write, and speak English.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
• No violations of FAA regulations within the last five (5) years.

🌟 Preferred Qualifications

• King Air 90/200 operating experience.
