DHC-8 Captain (ISR) – Bogotá | SOUTHCOM Rotational Deployments

✈️ The Mission

As the final authority for flight operations, you will lead Falcon I DHC-8 ISR sorties in support of customer collection objectives. You’ll champion safety, airworthiness, and crew coordination while navigating complex airspace, host-nation rules, and mission tasking across the SOUTHCOM AOR.

🧭 What You’ll Do

• Exercise Pilot in Command authority for safe, compliant day, night, and instrument ISR operations.
• Plan and brief missions: routes, performance, fuel, weight and balance, weather, and operational risk.
• Verify airworthiness and readiness through maintenance status, records review, and approved procedures.
• Operate within FARs, host-nation regulations, flight releases, and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with mission planners, mission commanders, sensor operators, onboard processors, airspace controllers, maintenance teams, and supported stakeholders.
• Employ EFB, navigation, mapping, communications, and performance tools to optimize execution.
• Monitor systems, fuel, airspace, weather, crew performance, and mission risk; communicate and adapt as required.
• Secure international permissions, diplomatic clearances, and airspace access as needed.
• Lead launch/recovery, debriefs, documentation, and operational reporting with precision and discipline.
• Model cockpit discipline, CRM, and meticulous recordkeeping in alignment with company, customer, and regulatory standards.

🧰 What You’ll Bring

• U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance (or higher).
• High school diploma or GED.
• FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with multi-engine and instrument ratings.
• Current FAA Second Class Medical (or higher).
• DHC-8 type rating (required).
• Minimum 6 years of relevant aviation experience.
• At least 500 hours fixed-wing PIC in multi-engine turboprop/jet (or combined) on aircraft with a GTOW ≥12,500 lbs.
• At least 500 hours multi-engine time.
• Valid U.S. passport with at least 6 months remaining; ability to meet regional entry requirements.
• Willing and able to deploy OCONUS for rotational periods of at least 60 days and work irregular hours.
• Professional, mission-focused demeanor when working with military, government, contractor, and partner-nation teams.

🌟 Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience.
• FAA Airline Transport Pilot (Multi-Engine Land) — unrestricted or restricted ATP preferred.
• 1,000+ hours in the aircraft category.
• Multiple airborne ISR deployments/assignments; SOUTHCOM experience.
• Combined Air Operations Center (CAOC) support experience.
• Experience in DHC-8/Dash 8 or other missionized twin-engine ISR aircraft.
• Proficiency in ISR tactics, airborne collection, and operations/intelligence center workflows.
• Regional geopolitical awareness and experience coordinating with U.S. Government customers and deployed ISR task forces.
