Take the left seat on one of aviation’s most capable STOL workhorses. As a Captain on the DHC-6 Twin Otter, you’ll lead safe, efficient operations in dynamic environments while mentoring crew and delivering exceptional reliability.
✈️ The Opportunity
Command the Twin Otter across multi-engine operations where precision, judgement, and airmanship matter. You’ll set the standard for safety, champion SOPs, and lead from the front in varied conditions. Off-strip exposure (wheels/floats/skis) is highly valued and may enhance mission flexibility.
🧭 What You’ll Do
- Operate as PIC of the DHC-6, ensuring safe, compliant flights in accordance with Canadian regulations and company SOPs.
- Plan and execute flights with strong decision-making, performance calculations, and risk management.
- Lead effective CRM, mentoring First Officers and fostering a just safety culture.
- Conduct thorough preflight/ postflight duties, recordkeeping, and operational briefings.
- Maintain currency, training, and checking standards; embrace continuous improvement.
- Adapt to operational demands with schedule flexibility (mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays).
🧰 Minimum Qualifications
- Total Time: 3,000+ hours
- PIC Time: 500+ hours
- Multi-Engine: 2,000+ hours
- Multi-Engine PIC: 500+ hours
- Licence: ATPL (TCCA)
- Medical: Class 1
- English Proficiency: ICAO Level 4 or higher
- Security: Eligible to obtain a RAIC from Transport Canada
- Type Rating: Not required — company training provided
- Licence Holders: Open to TCCA licence holders
🌟 Preferred Experience
- Proven Captain time on DHC-3T or DHC-6.
- Off-strip proficiency — floats and/or skis experience is a strong asset.
Note: Off-strip experience is a big plus but not mandatory.
