Join a seasoned seaplane team as a DHC-2 Beaver Captain for the peak season. You’ll command one of aviation’s most iconic bush aircraft, delivering safe, smooth passenger operations from the water with professionalism and precision.
🧭 The Mission
As Captain, you hold ultimate responsibility for passenger safety and operational decision-making. You’ll plan and execute floatplane flights, exercise sound judgment in changing conditions, and work as a true team player with ground and dock crews to deliver reliable, on-time service.
🧰 What You’ll Do
- Lead all phases of water operations: docking, mooring, ramping, and open-water departures/arrivals.
- Conduct thorough preflight planning, performance calculations, fuel management, and weight & balance.
- Assess weather, water conditions, and operational risk; make go/no-go decisions with superior judgment.
- Deliver excellent passenger experiences with clear briefings and professional communication.
- Practice disciplined checklist use, CRM, and adherence to applicable regulations and company SOPs.
- Coordinate with maintenance regarding aircraft status and logbook documentation.
🌟 Minimum Qualifications
- Total time: 1,000 hours minimum
- Float time: At least 50 hours
- In-type (DHC-2): 25 hours
- License: FAA CPL with Float/Seaplane (SES) rating
- Medical: Current Second-Class
- Eligibility: Authorized to work where the role is based; visa sponsorship is not available
Bonus: Part 135 experience is a plus.
Flight time notes: Have a minimum of 1,000 hours total time and at least 50 hours float time (25 hours DHC-2 preferred). Type rating not required; training provided.
📚 Training & Support
Non-Type Rated pilots are welcome. Structured aircraft and operational training is provided to ensure you meet company standards for DHC-2 float operations and seasonal route demands.
✨ Preferred Extras
- Previous Part 135 or similar commercial seaplane experience
- Strong customer service focus in passenger operations
- Bush/remote-area experience and comfort operating in dynamic environments
- Local area knowledge and adeptness with changing weather/water conditions
- Proven teamwork with dock/ground crews and maintenance
