✈️ About the Role
As Captain on the DHC‑7, you will lead safe, efficient multi‑crew operations to remote communities and challenging strips, leveraging the aircraft’s renowned STOL capability. You’ll set the tone for professionalism, manage operational risk, and deliver reliable service in dynamic northern weather and terrain.
🧭 What You’ll Do
- Lead all phases of flight in accordance with company SOPs, CARs, and applicable regulations.
- Plan and execute flights into short, gravel, and remote runways with precision performance calculations and disciplined decision‑making.
- Set a high standard for CRM, mentoring the flight deck and coordinating closely with ground and dispatch teams.
- Apply sound judgment in cold‑weather operations, de/anti‑icing, and northern diversion/alternate strategies.
- Ensure meticulous preflight preparation, threat and error management, and continuous risk assessment.
- Represent the operation with professionalism when interacting with customers, communities, and stakeholders.
🧰 Minimum Qualifications
- Total Time: 4,000 hours
- Pilot‑in‑Command (PIC): 2,500 hours
- Type Rating: DHC‑7 required
- Type Experience: Current or previous Dash 7 experience
- Environment: Proven Northern/Arctic experience
- License: ATPL – TCCA
- Medical: Class 1
- English Proficiency: ICAO Level 4+
🌟 Additional Requirements
- RAIC: Ability to obtain and maintain a RAIC
- Passport: Valid passport for travel as required
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license
