As Captain on the four‑engine de Havilland Canada DHC‑7, you’ll command missions to remote and short strips, applying sound airmanship in dynamic weather and austere environments. You’ll set the tone for safety, mentor your crew, and deliver dependable service where it matters most.
🧰 What you’ll bring
- Total time: 4,000+ hours
- PIC time: 2,500+ hours
- Type rating: Current DHC‑7 type rating (current or previous experience on type)
- License: ATPL — TCCA
- Medical: Class 1
- ICAO ELP: Level 4 or higher
- Additional: Ability to obtain a RAIC, valid passport, and valid driver’s license
- Preferred: Proven Northern/Arctic operations experience

- Exercise full PIC authority, leading safe Dash 7 operations in accordance with company SOPs and regulations.
- Plan and execute flights into remote, short, and unimproved strips, optimizing performance and STOL capabilities.
- Make sound, timely decisions in cold-weather and low-visibility environments, balancing operational needs with safety margins.
- Mentor and coordinate with First Officers, crew, ground teams, and dispatch for smooth turnarounds in challenging conditions.
- Champion a proactive safety culture through meticulous briefings, threat/error management, and disciplined checklist use.
- Maintain currency, records, and training standards required for Captaincy on the DHC‑7.
