🧭 The Mission

In a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment, you will command and deliver flight crew training on a state-of-the-art Dash 8 surveillance aircraft. As an integral member of the training and checking team, you’ll shape the professional development of Dash 8 pilots through rigorous training and assessment in both the aircraft and simulator. Your leadership, decisiveness, and professionalism will set the tone for your crew and underpin mission success.

  • Command and deliver flight crew training on a highly modified Dash 8 surveillance platform with cutting-edge systems.
  • Conduct training and checking activities in the aircraft and/or simulator, ensuring standards and currency.
  • Provide clear leadership to the crew—planning, briefing, executing, and debriefing missions to the highest professional standard.
  • Coach, mentor, and assess pilots, fostering a culture of safety, discipline, and continuous improvement.
  • Uphold compliance with company, regulatory, and operational frameworks across training and mission activities.

🧾 Minimum Requirements

  • PIC time: 1000 hours
  • Flight time notes: 1000 hours PIC in multi-crew operations on type-rated aeroplanes
  • Instructor credential: Australian Flight or Simulator Instructor Rating
  • Simulator roles: Type rating training activity endorsement on any multi-crew type-rated type
  • Licence: ATPL (CASA)
  • Medical: Class 1
  • Language: ICAO ELP Level 4 or higher
  • Type rating: Not required (training provided)

  • Travel: Current passport
  • Security: Eligibility for an ASIC and Australian government security clearances
