Dash 8 Captain – Direct Entry (Type Rating Provided)
✈️ Lead the line as a Dash 8 Captain
Step straight into the left seat on the Dash 8. If you have the command experience and a Transport Canada ATPL, we’ll provide the type rating and set you up for success.
🧭 Your mission
As a Direct Entry Captain on the Dash 8, you’ll lead safe, efficient operations while setting the tone for a professional, customer-focused flight experience.
- Command Dash 8 operations in accordance with company SOPs and regulatory standards.
- Exercise sound judgement for weather, performance, and operational decision-making.
- Foster strong CRM, mentoring and guiding the flight deck and cabin teams.
- Ensure precise flight planning, fuel management, and on-time performance.
- Promote a safety-first culture and report proactively through the SMS.
🧰 Minimum requirements
- Total flight time: 2,000 hours
- PIC time: 250 hours
- At least 500 hours in CARs 705 operations or equivalent experience, including but not limited to:
- Part 121 or European airline operations
- Heavy military transport/multi-engine
- Military helicopter multi-crew PIC
- Large corporate or high-performance multi-engine PIC under CAR 704
- Multi-engine/multi-crew turbine PIC in aircraft at or above 12,500 lb (credit may include certain 703-category types such as King Air 200 or larger, Metro II or larger, Twin Otter, Beech 1900, etc.)
- Valid ATPL issued by TCCA
- Valid Class 1 Medical
- ICAO English Level 4 or higher
🛡️ Additional requirements
- Current valid passport and all visas/travel documents permitting unrestricted travel
- Ability to obtain a RAIC prior to completing Initial Ground School
- Clear police background and criminal record check
- Successful completion of a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening
