Perimeter Aviation LP is seeking an experienced Dash 8 705 Captain to lead safe, reliable operations out of Timmins, ON. You’ll move people and essential cargo across Northern Ontario and Northern Manitoba, supporting scheduled service, charters, and medevac missions—always with safety, passenger comfort, and on-time performance at the forefront.

  • Reports to: Assistant Chief Pilot
  • Operation: 705 — Scheduled passenger and freight, charter, and medical evacuation
  • Primary Aircraft: Dash 8 (705)
  • Company Fleet: Dash 8, Metro, Merlin
  • License: ATPL (Transport Canada) with Group 1 Instrument Rating

✈️ What you’ll do

  • Captain Dash 8 (705) flights in strict adherence to SOPs, Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), the Aircraft Flight Manual, and the Company Operations Manual.
  • Prioritize safety, passenger comfort, and on-time performance on every sector.
  • Conduct thorough pre-flight planning: review weather and NOTAMs, determine fuel and oil requirements, complete weight and balance, review/amend/accept the Type B 705 Operational Flight Plan, and perform a meticulous pre-flight inspection.
  • Coordinate with Dispatch for joint flight watch and operational continuity.
  • Oversee and assist with loading, unloading, and securing cargo and freight as required.
  • Execute all post-flight duties, including recording flight times, documenting defects, and confirming aircraft status and location when away from base.
  • Maintain currency and continue to meet or exceed Transport Canada qualification standards; perform additional duties as assigned.

🧰 What you bring

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Transport Canada ATPL with current Group 1 Instrument Rating.
  • Category 1 Medical.
  • Minimum 3,000 hours total time.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all applicable transportation security clearances and authorizations.
  • Fluent English communication skills (verbal, written, and listening).
  • Physical ability to perform all duties, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexibility for variable schedules, extended travel, and indoor/outdoor work in all weather conditions.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and a calm, customer-focused approach—especially in dynamic or time-sensitive situations.
  • Strong time management, prioritization, problem-solving, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, accountability, and respectful relationship-building, including with First Nations communities.
