Chief Pilot – Part 135 Charter Operations

✈️ The mission

Oversee the professional standards of FJC flight crews and implement and maintain flight-operations policies and procedures in coordination with the Director of Operations. This role combines Pilot-in-Command flying duties with office and operational leadership, including qualification and currency oversight, aircraft/route support, MEL and SMS administration, and high-touch service to charter clients and owners.

🧭 What you’ll do

• Supervise and manage flight crews; coordinate crew assignments and schedules.
• Assist the Director of Operations with operations policies and procedures; ensure alignment with applicable FARs and FJC Charter Operations Specifications.
• Support adding/removing aircraft from the FJC Charter certificate; confirm appropriate equipment and maintain required onboard documentation.
• Maintain aircraft and crew profiles, the aircraft weight-and-balance program, and flight-personnel reports.
• Verify crew qualifications and currency; ensure compliance with Ops Specs and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate aerodrome and route suitability; distribute route, airport, NOTAM, NAVAID, company-policy, and regulatory information.
• Act for the certificate holder as delegated, including signing FAA correspondence and Operations Specifications.
• Manage the MEL program and actively champion the FJC Charter SMS.
• Maintain PIC proficiency; adhere to FARs, Ops Specs, company policies, and procedures; remain fully knowledgeable of applicable GOM provisions.
• Deliver courteous, professional customer service to charter clients and aircraft owners.

🧰 What you’ll bring

• Flight time: 2,500 hours total; 1,200 hours PIC including 500 hours cross-country; 100 hours night; 75 hours actual or simulated instrument.
• Leadership: Minimum 3 years of leadership or management experience; meets qualifications required by CFR 119.71.
• Certificates: Current and valid Pilot’s Certificate with English-proficient endorsement and Commercial Instrument Multi-Engine rating.
• Medical: Able to obtain and maintain an FAA Second-Class Medical.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent years of professional aviation experience.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication; teamwork under high-stress, fast-paced conditions; motivation; organization; attention to detail; computer proficiency; strong knowledge of applicable FARs.
• Physical: Able to lift 50 pounds; climb, kneel, squat, sit, and stand for extended periods; read, write, and speak English.
• Compliance: Proof of eligibility to work in the United States; no FAA-regulation violations in the last five years.
• DOT Safety Sensitive: Placement in a random drug-testing pool.
• Availability: Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

• Previous FAR Part 135 experience.
• King Air 90/200 experience (preferred).
