Join a mission-driven flight deck where every sector matters. Based in Perth, Melbourne or Cairns, you’ll operate state-of-the-art Challenger 604 jets on the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) contract. From offshore rescues to emergency response and humanitarian aid, your flying will directly support life-saving outcomes across Australia’s vast Search and Rescue region.

🧭 The mission

As a Challenger 604 First Officer, you’ll fly demanding multi-crew IFR missions over land and sea in one of the world’s largest SAR regions. You’ll work closely with AMSA and mission coordinators to deliver rapid, safe and effective tasking — from medical evacuations and offshore rescues to time-critical humanitarian support.

🧰 What you’ll do

  • Operate the CL-604 in a high-performance, multi-crew environment with strict adherence to SOPs.
  • Execute SAR taskings including offshore rescues, emergency response and humanitarian missions.
  • Coordinate with mission crews, ATC and ground agencies to ensure safe, efficient outcomes.
  • Maintain exemplary standards of airmanship, risk management and decision-making.
  • Engage in recurrent and mission-readiness training; embrace a proactive safety culture.
  • Be available for night standby and able to respond from within 30 minutes of your assigned base.

🌟 What you’ll bring

  • Total time: 2000 hours
  • PIC time: 500 hours
  • Multi-engine: 500 hours
  • Flight time notes: 500 hours command/ICUS and 500 hours multi-engine, or at least 250 hours turboprop or Grade 1 FIR
  • Licence: CASA CPL with IR and ME
  • Medical: Class 1
  • English proficiency: ICAO Level 4+
  • Work rights: Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident (some nationality restrictions apply due to ITAR)
  • Security: Eligible for an ASIC
  • Standby proximity: Able to reside within 30 minutes of assigned base when on night standby
  • Type rating: Not required — training provided
