Join KBR in support of the Air Test and Evaluation Squadron THREE ZERO (VX‑30) at NAS Point Mugu, CA. As part of the world’s largest independent flight test organization, you’ll fly C/KC‑130 aircraft in a dynamic test and range support environment alongside government, military, contractor, and industry teammates.
🧭 The Mission
Provide expert C/KC‑130 aircrew support to NAVAIR test and evaluation, range operations, and fleet integration. You’ll help plan and execute safe, disciplined test sorties and range support flights that advance naval aviation capability.
🧰 What You’ll Do
- Serve as C/KC‑130 Aircraft Commander for developmental and operational test and range support missions.
- Plan, brief, execute, and debrief complex flight profiles in accordance with CNAF 3710.7 series and VX‑30 procedures.
- Support test project execution, risk management, data collection, and mission reporting.
- Provide instructor/check aircrew support for C/KC‑130J and legacy C‑130 platforms as qualified.
- Collaborate with government, military, and industry stakeholders to integrate test objectives and range operations.
🌟 Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience: 10+ years related flight/test experience, including 3+ years as a Test Project Officer in military test and evaluation.
- C‑130 Time: Minimum 1,000 pilot hours in the C‑130 and designation as Aircraft Commander.
- Instructional: Instructor experience or designation as a flight crew check pilot and Type/Model/Series (T/M/S) Instructor in C/KC‑130J and/or legacy C‑130.
- Licenses: FAA CPL, IR, ME (Accepted Authority: FAA).
- Type Rating: C/KC‑130 type rating required.
- Medical: Current FAA Class 2.
- Physical Standards: Meet current CNAF 3710.7 series physical and physiological minimums for C‑130 T/M/S aircrew.
- Training: Able to complete and maintain survival and aviation physiology training and all contract aircrew qualifications.
- Security & Citizenship: Current DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain; US Citizenship required. Subject to government security investigation and eligibility for classified access.
🌟 Preferred Qualifications
- 1,500+ hours as Pilot‑in‑Command.
- 2+ years direct experience in test and evaluation of fixed‑wing aircraft.
- Graduate of a recognized test pilot school: USNTPS, USAFTPS, Empire, or EPNER.
