Challenge Airlines is recruiting an accomplished Captain/Commander to operate the Boeing 767 from our Luqa, Malta base. As Commander, you hold full authority and responsibility for the safe conduct of each flight, leading the crew and safeguarding the aircraft, its cargo and any supernumeraries under EASA regulation.
🧭 Your Mission
- Exercise overall authority for flight safety, crew leadership and operational decision-making.
- Determine and confirm aircraft airworthiness prior to departure, including review of ATL, MEL and CDL.
- Verify that weather, runway conditions and aerodrome operating minima permit a safe take-off and landing.
- Ensure full compliance with company SOPs, EASA regulations and all applicable operational requirements.
- Conduct thorough preflight planning, performance calculations, fuel planning and operational risk assessment.
- Manage in-flight operational considerations, including contingency planning and communication with operations and ATC.
- Foster a just culture and high-performing team environment across the flight deck and load/ground operations.
🧰 What You’ll Bring
- Holds a valid EASA Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) No. 1178/2011.
- Current Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Valid Instrument Rating (IR).
- If Type Rated (B767/Boeing Heavy Jet):
- 2,000 hours PIC on a medium/heavy jet.
- 500 hours on type as Commander or on a Boeing Heavy Jet.
- If Non-Type Rated:
- 6,000 hours total time.
- PIC hours on a medium/heavy jet (company minimum applies).
- Proven track record of safe decision-making, leadership and effective crew resource management.
