✈️ The Role
As an ATR 42 Captain, you’ll be responsible for safe, compliant, and efficient operations in diverse northern conditions. You’ll exercise sound judgment, lead the crew with strong CRM, and ensure every sector meets operational and client standards.
🧭 Operating Environment
This position requires demonstrated knowledge of northern flying operations, including remote aerodromes, variable weather, and performance-focused decision making. You’ll uphold high standards of professionalism while delivering dependable service to northern communities and clients.
🧰 Key Responsibilities
- Lead ATR 42 flight operations in accordance with regulations, company SOPs, and client standards.
- Champion safety, apply disciplined threat and error management, and maintain operational readiness.
- Conduct thorough preflight planning, performance calculations, and northern-specific risk assessments.
- Foster effective CRM, mentoring and supporting the flight and ground teams.
- Ensure meticulous documentation, reporting, and adherence to safety-sensitive protocols.
🌟 Minimum Qualifications
- Total Time: 4,000 hours
- Pilot-in-Command (PIC): 1,000 hours
- Multi-Engine: 2,500 hours
- Turbine: 1,000 hours
- PIC Multi-Engine Turbine: 1,000 hours
- License: ATPL (TCCA)
- Medical: Class 1
- Language: ICAO ELP Level 4 or higher
- Type Rating: Not required on application (company training provided)
- Preferred: PIC time on aircraft > 12,500 lb
🔐 Compliance & Clearances
- Must be able to obtain a Transport Canada RAIC.
- Must meet requirements established in client standards.
- This is a safety-sensitive position; candidates must test negative for controlled substances and alcohol prior to employment.
📚 Training & Progression
Type rating is not required to apply. Successful candidates will receive company-provided ATR 42 training and recurrent development focused on northern operations, safety leadership, and SOP excellence.
