🧭 The Mission

As a Conair Captain, you’ll lead aerial firefighting missions in challenging, time‑critical environments—delivering precision drops, coordinating with air attack, and making sound decisions in mountainous terrain and dynamic weather. You’ll operate as part of an integrated crew and maintenance team focused on safety, performance and service excellence.

🧰 Your Flight Profile — Minimums

  • Total Time: 2,000 hours
  • Pilot‑in‑Command (PIC) Time: 1,000 hours
  • Mountain Experience: At least 250 hours in mountainous terrain
  • Currency: Recent flying experience within the last 12 months
  • License: Current ATPL (TCCA)
  • Medical: Valid Class 1
  • Language: ICAO ELP Level 4 or higher

For seaplane or tailwheel positions (as applicable):

  • 500 hours PIC on seaplane in a commercial operation, or
  • 200 hours on certified tailwheel aircraft

📍 Deployment & Lifestyle

  • Residency: Commit to residing in Canada during the fire season
  • Travel: Ability to obtain necessary work visas for international firefighting assignments
  • ID & Mobility: Valid Canadian Driver’s License and Passport
  • Operations: Seasonal base assignments with potential domestic and international deployments

No type rating required—Conair provides aircraft‑specific and mission training tailored to the airtanker you’ll operate. As aerospace and maintenance experts, we design, convert, and maintain our own fleets, pairing you with proven aircraft and an experienced support team committed to a strong safety culture.

Note: Training pathways and aircraft assignments are based on experience, operational needs, and proficiency.
