As a 705 Captain on the Dash 8 Q‑Series, you’ll report to the Assistant Chief Pilot and lead flights that carry thousands of passengers each year. Your top priority is uncompromising safety—while delivering a comfortable onboard experience and dependable, on-time performance.
🧭 What you’ll do
- Command Dash 8 Q‑Series operations in accordance with CARs 705, company SOPs, and all regulatory requirements.
- Plan and execute each flight with precision—from thorough preflight preparation and crew briefings to stable approaches and smooth arrivals.
- Prioritize safety in every decision while balancing passenger comfort and schedule integrity.
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate with the First Officer and cabin crew to ensure cohesive, professional operations.
- Communicate clearly with ATC, dispatch, maintenance, and ground teams to manage operational needs and resolve challenges.
- Complete required flight documentation accurately and on time.
🧰 What you bring
- Minimum requirements
- Valid ATPL (TCCA)
- Valid Class 1 Medical
- ICAO ELP Level 4
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Able to obtain and maintain all applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
- Type rating: Not required — training provided (NTR welcome)
- Preferred
- 500 hours on DHC‑8 (preferred)
- Previous airline experience (asset)
