🧰 The Role

As an Aerial Firefighting Captain, you will operate multi-mission, fixed-wing aircraft in support of wildfire suppression. You’ll work closely with flight crews, maintenance teams and air/ground agencies to deliver safe, effective aerial operations in dynamic environments, including mountainous terrain and internationally as required.

  • Execute aerial firefighting missions in accordance with company SOPs and regulatory requirements.
  • Exercise sound judgment in complex, time-sensitive operational scenarios.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure mission readiness and aircraft serviceability.
  • Adapt to seasonal deployments and variable operating conditions across diverse geographies.

🧭 Minimum Requirements

  • Total Time: 2,000 hours
  • Pilot-in-Command: 1,000 hours
  • Mountainous Terrain: At least 250 hours
  • License: ATPL (TCCA)
  • Medical: Class 1
  • English Proficiency: ICAO ELP Level 4 or higher
  • Recency: Recent flying experience within the last 12 months
  • Type Rating: Not required — full training provided

For seaplane or tailwheel aircraft positions:

  • 500 hours PIC on seaplane in a commercial operation, or
  • 200 hours on certified tailwheel aircraft

  • Ability to obtain necessary work visas for international firefighting assignments.
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license and passport.
  • Commitment to reside in Canada during the fire season.
