As an Aerial Firefighting Captain, you’ll fly high‑performance, fixed‑wing aircraft at low level and high speed, delivering water and retardant with precision in challenging terrain. 🛩️ The Fleet You’ll Fly
Operate a diverse, fixed‑wing fleet tailored to wildfire operations:
- L‑188 Electra
- CL‑215
- Turbo Commander series
- King Air 100 and C90A
- AT‑802 Fireboss
NTR welcome: Comprehensive aircraft‑specific training is provided for qualified captains.
🧭 What You’ll Do
- Execute low‑level, high‑speed water and retardant drops on active wildfires through rugged terrain.
- Plan and brief missions, assessing weather, terrain, fuel, performance, and risk.
- Coordinate closely with air attack, ground crews, and fellow pilots for safe, effective operations.
- Apply disciplined SOPs, aviation regulations, and robust threat‑and‑error management.
- Adapt to dynamic conditions, extended duty periods, and variable bases as operations demand.
📊 Minimum Requirements
- Total Time: 1500 hours
- PIC Time: 1000 hours
- Type Rating: Not required (training provided)
- Flight Time Notes: Minimums may differ by aircraft type
- License: TCCA with IATRA and IR
- Medical: Class 1
- Language Proficiency: ICAO ELP Level 4
