Senior Base Pilot (BN2T Islander Captain) – Northern Ireland

✈️ The opportunity

As Senior Base Pilot, you will be the on-base authority for BN2T operations—owning day-to-day decision-making and ensuring missions are flown safely, legally, and on time. You’ll guide aircrew, collaborate with engineering, and represent Draken with customers to deliver contracted outcomes without compromising standards.

• Operational leadership and local accountability for contracted BN2T flying.
• Safety-first decision-making, with clear, defensible judgments under time pressure.
• Daily coordination with aircrew, engineers, and operations to optimise aircraft availability and mission delivery.
• Rigorous compliance with applicable CAA/MAA regulatory frameworks and company procedures.
• Risk assessment and mitigation that balances mission effectiveness with robust safety margins.
• Professional representation of the base to customers and leadership, with timely, transparent reporting.
• Standards, mentoring, and positive safety culture across the base team.

📋 Minimum requirements

• Licence: UK CAA CPL with MCC and UPRT
• Medical: Class 1
• English Proficiency: ICAO ELP Level 4+
• Type Rating: Not required — training provided (NTR)
• Accepted Licences: UK CAA only

🌟 Highly regarded

• 1,000+ hours BN2 Islander PIC.
• Practical experience with CAA and/or MAA regulatory frameworks.
• Background in commercial, government, or military aviation operations.
