Saab 340 Captain (SF34) – Cayman Airways Express | George Town, Grand Cayman

✈️ Your Mission

As Captain, you hold sole command for each flight or series of flights. You will make overriding and final operational decisions affecting safety while ensuring the welfare of passengers and crew, regulatory compliance, disciplined crew performance, accurate operational reporting and efficient flight execution.

🧭 Key PIC Responsibilities

• Exercise full authority for flight safety, security and operational decision-making from door close to door open.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, aviation best practices and Company Operations Manuals.
• Verify all required documents, certificates and approvals are valid before departure and throughout the flight.
• Manage crew discipline, fitness for duty, behavior and professional appearance both on duty and away from base; prevent flight start/continuation if impairment is suspected.
• Implement health protocols for travelers suspected of communicable disease in accordance with procedures.
• Report any unlawful interference through designated authorities and submit required reports to the Chief Pilot for onward clearance to the Civil Aviation Authority.
• Notify Base Operations of delays, route deviations or operational changes; keep passengers informed during weather or technical delays.
• Act as a Senior Official of the Company when operating away from base and undertake associated reasonable responsibilities.
• During offline operations, manage Ship’s Funds, complete the flight expense account, and file Discretionary or Violation Reports as required.
• When safety demands, vary limitations as permitted; submit a written report to the Chief Pilot for any operation outside published regulations.
• Delegate tasks in line with the Operations Manual and checklists while retaining responsibility for checklist discipline, procedural compliance and overall flight safety and efficiency.

🧰 What You’ll Bring

• Licences & Medical: CAACI ATPL without restrictions or an equivalent qualification acceptable for SF34 PIC operations; First-Class FAA and CAACI medicals; English proficiency at ICAO Operations Level 4 or higher.
• Experience: Minimum 2,000 total flight hours including at least 1,000 hours on multi-engine turbine aircraft and 500 hours on type (Saab 340).
• Knowledge & Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical flight data/manuals; excellent oral and written communication; strong attention to detail; excellent interpersonal skills; unwavering professionalism with a safety- and customer-first mindset.
• Education: GCSE O Level passes (or equivalent) in Mathematics, English and at least one Science subject.
• Visa Eligibility: Ability to obtain and hold U.S. B1/B2 (Tourist/Business) and C1/D (Crew) visas.

🔐 Special Conditions

• Successful completion of the Cayman Airways Express Pilot-in-Command course and route qualification.
• Willingness to work outside normal office hours and be periodically on call.
• Six-month probationary period applies; a probationary monthly salary applies for pilots with less than six months of company service.
