Lead the Flight as Praetor 600 Captain
Solairus Aviation is hiring a full-time Praetor 600 Captain for our San Jose base at KSJC. You’ll be trusted to deliver safe, smooth, and discreet travel for our clients while upholding our uncompromising standards of safety, service, and integrity. This is a hands-on flying role for a seasoned captain who thrives in a collaborative, on-call operation.
✈️ What You’ll Do
- Serve as Pilot in Command, ensuring safe, prudent operation of the Praetor 600 on every flight.
- Review aircraft maintenance status and verify airworthiness prior to departure.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual.
- Analyze weather, NOTAMs, route conditions, destination and alternates; plan fuel and performance accordingly.
- Ensure full compliance with Solairus policies, procedures, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Safeguard passengers, aircraft, and crew; model professional airmanship and exemplary customer service.
- Complete all required trip documents and operational reports accurately and on time.
- Collaborate closely with dispatch/operations and fellow crew members to support client travel needs.
🧰 What You Bring
- Total time: 3,000 hours
- PIC: 1,500 hours
- MEL: 1,500 hours
- MEL PIC: 500 hours
- Turbojet time: 500 hours
- Instrument time: 250 hours
- Current type rating on the Praetor 600 or a comparable aircraft.
- Current First-Class Medical.
- Ability to work in an on-call environment and adapt to changing schedules.
- Completion of ICAO international procedures training annually.
- Primary residence within a two-hour drive of KSJC, or willingness to relocate.
