PC-12 Air Medical Captain (IFR) – Yakima, WA | 7/7 Schedule

✈️ About the role

In this fixed‑wing captain role, you have final authority for safe, legal, and airworthy operations in dynamic weather and operational conditions. You’ll conduct thorough preflight planning, partner seamlessly with medical teams, and execute timely transports to receiving hospitals throughout the assigned area.

🧰 What you’ll do

• Execute single‑pilot IFR missions in the PC‑12, ensuring strict compliance with FARs, the AIM, the General Operations Manual, and Air Methods policies.
• Perform meticulous preflight inspections, aircraft walk‑arounds before and after each leg, and sign the Daily Flight Log to verify airworthiness.
• Maintain command authority over all aspects of flight—passenger, crew, cargo, and equipment safety.
• Conduct detailed flight planning to exacting standards, often with short notice, adapting to rapidly changing weather and operational priorities.
• Ensure the medical team is familiar and comfortable with the aircraft’s medical interior and systems; maintain familiarity with backup aircraft in the area.
• Accurately complete all required documentation and reports.
• Participate in meetings, training, projects, committees, and community outreach as a representative of Air Methods and ALNW.

🧭 What you’ll bring

• Education & experience: Associate degree (or equivalent) plus 2–5 years related experience/training; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience considered.
• Currency: Flown in category within the previous 24 months.
• Medical: FAA First‑ or Second‑Class Medical.
• Certificates & ratings:
  • Commercial Pilot License – Airplane (Single‑Engine Land for PC‑12 operations).
  • Instrument Rating for applicable category and class; ATP in category satisfies instrument requirement.
  • Multi‑engine rating required when operating twin‑engine aircraft; Commercial SEL required for single‑engine aircraft.
• IFR program minimums (category = airplane):
  • 2,500 total time (TT); at least 2,000 hours in category.
  • 1,000 hours PIC in category.
  • 500 hours cross‑country (including 50+ hours at night).
  • 500 hours turbine time.
  • 100 hours night; 100 hours actual instrument in category.
• ALNW program minimums (category = airplane):
  • 2,500 total time (TT); at least 2,500 hours in category.
  • 150 hours night; 300 hours actual instrument in category.
  • 50 hours in make and model.
• Operational requirements: Meet program weight limit (≤ 250 lb) and age requirement (under 70).
