PC-12 Air Ambulance Captain (IFR) – Farmington, NM

🧰 What you’ll do

• Serve as PIC with final authority for safe, legal aircraft operation, passenger safety, cargo, and equipment.
• Verify aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy before accepting a mission; transport medical crew and patient to the receiving hospital within the assigned area.
• Complete a thorough preflight before every flight, sign the Daily Flight Log to verify airworthiness, and perform full walk-arounds before engine start and after each leg.
• Execute detailed flight planning—often on short notice—to exacting standards; operate in full compliance with FAR, AIM, GOM, and Air Methods policies and procedures.
• Maintain proficiency in assigned and backup aircraft, including familiarity with medical interiors and systems; ensure the medical flight team is comfortable with onboard systems.
• Complete all required documentation and administrative reports accurately and on time.
• Participate in meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach.
• Perform other duties as assigned; no supervisory responsibilities.

🎯 What you bring

• Recent flight experience: Flown in the applicable category for a commercial operator or in the military within the past 24 months.
• Minimum flight hours (Fixed-Wing IFR Program):
  • 2,500 total hours
  • 2,000 hours in category
  • 1,000 hours PIC in category
  • 500 hours cross-country
  • 500 hours fixed-wing turbine
  • 100 hours night
  • 100 hours actual instrument in category
• Certificates: Commercial with Instrument for applicable category and class; an ATP in category satisfies this requirement.
• Medical: FAA First- or Second-Class Medical.
• Education & experience: Associate’s degree (or equivalent) plus 2–5 years related experience/training, or an equivalent combination; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Professional standards: Maintain positive professional relationships, attend reliably as scheduled, and comply with DOT/FAA drug and alcohol testing requirements.
• Mission/aircraft limits: Able to maintain a weight of no more than 250 pounds and be less than 70 years old.
