🧰 What You’ll Do

• Command medevac flights with unwavering commitment to safety, on‑time performance, patient comfort, and crew coordination.
• Operate strictly per CARs, Company Operations Manual, Aircraft Flight Manual, and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Complete all preflight requirements: Operational Flight Plan, weather and NOTAM review, fuel/oil needs, weight & balance, manifest acceptance, Journey Log entries, and a thorough preflight inspection.
• Perform Type B flight watch jointly with Dispatch and complete Type C flight watch, ensuring clear, constant communication with crew, flight followers, dispatcher, and medical teams.
• Assist as appropriate with patient care logistics; lift, load, and secure patients, cargo, baggage, and freight; brief passengers per SOPs.
• Execute post‑flight duties: post‑flight inspection, confirm aircraft whereabouts when away from base, and record flight times/defects.
• Engage actively in the Company’s Safety Management System and continually meet/exceed Transport Canada qualification standards.
• Adapt to changing remote‑base assignments and additional duties as operationally required.

🧠 Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Licenses & Medical: Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), Category 1 Medical, Group 1 Instrument Rating; ATPL required for 703/704 Medevac Captain appointment.
• Experience: 1500 hrs total time with 500 hrs PIC.
• Eligibility: Canadian citizen or unrestricted ability to work in Canada; fluent in English.
• Knowledge: Thorough understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations and company/aircraft documentation.
• Travel Documents: Valid passport and valid driver’s licence.
• Asset: Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training.

🧳 Physical & Operational Requirements

• Physically able to lift, load, and secure patients, cargo, baggage, and freight.
• Work indoors/outdoors in all weather conditions; flexible schedule with extended travel as required.
• Travel by aircraft and other means; remote‑base rotations as dictated by operations.
• Maintain Transport Canada approvals and continue to meet/exceed all qualification standards for the role.
