MD-11 First Officer – Global Cargo (NTR, Training Provided)

✈️ About the role

The First Officer is Second-in-Command of the flight and complies with all regulations, company directives, and Captain’s guidance to ensure a safe, on-time operation. You’ll help deliver reliable cargo solutions across diverse international routes while upholding Western Global’s safety and performance standards.

🧰 What you’ll do

• Serve as SIC on MD-11 global cargo missions for e-commerce, express, freight forwarding, logistics, nonprofit, and governmental customers.
• Execute all phases of flight per SOPs and applicable regulations, supporting Captain’s decision-making and flight management.
• Conduct thorough preflight planning, performance calculations, and systems checks; monitor aircraft systems and automation in-flight.
• Practice strong CRM, threat and error management, and disciplined checklist usage on every leg.
• Communicate clearly using standardized radiotelephony and maintain accurate operational documentation.
• Uphold safety, security, and compliance in a safety-sensitive environment.

🧭 Minimum requirements

• Total time: 2,500 hours
• License required: ATP (FAA)
• Medical: Class 1
• Type rating: Not required; MD-11 training provided

✨ Preferred experience

• 1,000 hours of flight time under 14 CFR Part 121 operations
• Up to 500 hours of military PIC time in a multiengine, turbine-powered, fixed-wing airplane may count toward the 1,000-hour preference
• PIC time in operations under 14 CFR § 135.243(a)(1) or § 91.1053(a)(2)(i), or any combination of these

🔐 Additional requirements

• Valid passport allowing unrestricted international travel (includes missions supporting military contracts)
• Hold an FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
• No history of accidents or incidents
• Ability to pass a DOT pre-employment drug test and 10-year background check (safety-sensitive role)
• Visa sponsorship is not provided; candidates must have appropriate work authorization
