Las Vegas–Based CJ3 Captain (Cessna 525)

✈️ Lead the Flight Deck as our CJ3 Captain

As the Las Vegas–based Captain on the Cessna 525 (CJ3), you’ll lead safe, efficient operations on the ground and in the air while delivering an extraordinary client experience. You’ll set the tone for the flight deck, mentor First Officers, and communicate clearly with leadership, dispatch, maintenance and your crew.

  • Role: Pilot in Command / Captain
  • Reports to: Chief Pilot
  • Travel: Domestic and international; irregular schedule and time away from home

🧭 What you’ll do

  • Lead the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the CJ3 in all phases of flight.
  • Thoroughly complete preflight planning and checklists; verify the identification of every passenger before boarding.
  • Anticipate client needs and consistently exceed customer expectations.
  • Maintain clear, timely communication with First Officers, dispatch, maintenance, administration and company leadership.
  • Train and mentor First Officers on assigned flights and aircraft.
  • Adhere to all applicable FAA regulations, the General Operations Manual, operations specifications and departmental procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management or senior leadership.

🧰 Minimum qualifications

  • 3,000 hours fixed-wing total time.
  • 1,500 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) total time.
  • 500 hours total turbine time.
  • Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
  • FAA First Class Medical Certificate (current and valid).
  • FCC Radio License.
  • Valid, unexpired U.S. passport; eligible to fly internationally into any country or jurisdiction without restrictions.
  • Reside in, or within two hours of, a major airport.
  • Exceptional communication skills; thrives in a fast-paced environment; eager to take on new challenges as the company grows.

🌟 Preferred qualifications

  • Previous corporate aviation or Part 135 charter experience.
  • Current type rating for an aircraft within Thrive Aviation’s fleet.

  • Total time: 3,000+ hours
  • PIC time: 1,500+ hours
  • Turbine time: 500+ hours

🪪 Required licenses & credentials

  • ATP Certificate
  • FAA First Class Medical
  • FCC Radio Telephone Operator Permit
  • Valid U.S. passport

🕒 Schedule, environment & physical demands

  • Operate in a small, close-knit flight crew environment; frequent customer interaction in confined spaces.
  • Irregular hours with short-notice flight assignments, changes or cancellations.
  • Periods of several days or weeks away from home during work rotations.
  • Ability to remain seated in a small cockpit for extended periods; must maintain FAA First Class Medical standards.
