Reporting to the Head of Flight Operations, the King Air Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Captain delivers compliant, safe, reliable, effective, efficient, and evolvable flight operations in support of contracts with the US Government, allies, and partners. You will lead assigned flight and mission crews on deployed multi-sensor ISR missions, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and mission success in dynamic and contested environments.
🧭 The mission
As a King Air ISR Captain, you’ll captain multi‑engine missions that fuse sensors, crews, and data to deliver timely intelligence and decisive effects. You’ll set the tone for safety and performance, champion standards, and adapt rapidly to evolving tasking—always keeping your crew and aircraft a step ahead.
🧰 What you’ll do
- Lead deployed multi‑sensor ISR missions in King Air aircraft, ensuring safe, compliant, and on‑time execution.
- Plan, brief, execute, and debrief flights in accordance with FARs, company SOPs, and contractual requirements.
- Exercise Pilot in Command authority to manage risk, airworthiness, and crew performance in dynamic and contested environments.
- Apply Safety Management System (SMS) and risk frameworks to identify hazards and implement mitigations.
- Leverage aviation weather analysis, flight planning, and flight following tools to optimize mission outcomes.
- Coordinate internally and externally using Microsoft Outlook and Teams; maintain clear, professional written and verbal communication.
- Maintain thorough records, ensuring compliance with FAA requirements and the Pilot Records Database (PRD).
- Coach, mentor, and lead flight and mission crew members to uphold a just culture and continuous improvement.
🌟 What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) or a minimum of 4+ years of equivalent aviation experience.
- Solid understanding of FARs, particularly 14 CFR Parts 61 and 91.
- Working knowledge of Aviation Management Systems, Safety Management Systems (SMS), and risk management frameworks.
- Skill with aviation weather analysis, flight planning, and flight following tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication; proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Teams.
- Ability to lead diverse crews with calm, decisive judgment under pressure.
📏 Minimum qualifications
- PIC Time: 1,000 hours
- Multi‑Engine: 100 hours
- Operational Experience: At least 2 years in civil or military aviation environments
- Licenses: FAA CPL, IR, ME (Accepted Licenses: FAA only)
- Medical: FAA Class 2
- Security: Active US Secret Security Clearance (required)
- Records: Meets all FAA records/background requirements, including acceptable PRD review
- Travel Docs: Current passport
- Driver’s License: Current US driver’s license
- Type Rating: Not required; training provided for qualified candidates
🏅 Preferred
- Type rated in BE‑200 and/or BE‑300 aircraft.
- FAA CFI/CFII/MEI; or graduate of a US Military Flight Instructor Training Program.
🛰 Operating environment
You will support contracts with the US Government, allies, and partners, operating King Air platforms in dynamic and sometimes contested environments. Mission success depends on disciplined adherence to FARs (14 CFR Parts 61 and 91), robust use of SMS and risk management, and the ability to adapt quickly while maintaining the highest standards of safety, security, and professionalism.
